The "1898" is nestled in the small hamlet of Désert d'en Haut on the edge of the slopes. It was rebuilt stone by stone in 2017 with great care by the craftsmen of the valley. It combines traditional architecture, contemporary aesthetic quality and top of the range facilities. The chalet is officially rated as a 4-star property. Spacious and comfortable, this 120 m2 chalet can accommodate up to 10 people in three beautiful bedrooms and a mezzanine. The large living room around the stove, the kitchen, two bathrooms, separate toilet and an additional living room/kitchen make it a very pleasant place where you are not on top of each other. A balcony and two terraces offer beautiful views over the Neuvache valley. The lower terrace with a shade cloth is ideal for pleasant meals.

The "1898" is a large detached chalet, completely renovated in 2017 and tastefully and comfortably furnished. It is organised on three levels with a large living room and wood-burning stove, three bedrooms and a mezzanine with very comfortable beds, two large bathrooms, a separate WC, a well-equipped kitchen, a hamam and two very sunny terraces and a balcony. Bed linen, duvets, towels and a cleaning service are included in the rental price.

  • Accessibility :The chalet is non-smoking. Animals are not admitted. Regrettably, the chalet is not accessible to people with reduced mobility and not recommended for small children able to walk.

Direct motorway access. Valmeinier is 660 km from Paris, 200 km from Lyon and 130 km from Turin. Exit no. 29 St-Michel de Maurienne off the A43 motorway is 17 km from the chalet. Before reaching the 1800 resort, take the road and then the path to the Chenalette car park. The cluster of houses is on the left. Park under the tree in front of the chalet, then walk another 30m. You can also park your car in the Station 1800 car park 400m away. The TGV stations of Modane and St-Jean de Maurienne are 30 km from the chalet. St-Michel/Valloire station is 16km away and is served by a regional train (TER). From Modane, St-Jean de Maurienne or St-Michel/Valloire there are shuttle buses (www.altibus.com) to Maison de Valmeinier or a taxi to the ski bridge. From this ski bridge you then walk another 400m.
